You can search for technology information of interest to you by typing a related word or phrase or qualifying Boolean expression into the text box on the Search/Browse page and/or selecting qualifiers from the picklists at the bottom of the page and clicking on the Search button. The titles of all reports that meet your search criteria are then listed for you. Note that each qualifying report must meet the qualifications you specified in all the Search/Browse boxes. If you searched by text, the titles of the most relevant reports are listed first; otherwise, the titles are listed alphabetically. Each title is a hyperlink to a Safety Report that includes indexing terms in the expandable right column. You can review the list of titles, scrolling and paging through it if necessary, and click on the title of a report you would like to examine. From the displayed report you can use your Internet browser’s Back command to review additional titles on the list, or you can return to the Search/Browse page via the navigation bar or hyperlink to initiate a new search.

To produce a list of reports that contain specific word(s) or phrase(s), type a text search criterion expression into the box and click on the Search button. See Tips for Searching by Text for help with specifying your text search criteria.

Using Multiple Search Criteria

You may specify search criteria in any number and any combination of the picklists at the bottom of the search page. The listed titles on the search results page will then meet all the specified search criteria. To make multipe selections from one box, hold down the control (Ctrl) key and click on all desired terms with mouse.

Example 1: To perform a search using multiple text and picklist values:

• Click on the "By Text" box and type the terms surgical and fire (without quotes) into the search box.
• Click on the Hazard Reports option in the "Document Type" picklist and the Device factors option in the "Cause of Device-Related Incident" picklist.
• Click on the Search button to view a list of all titles that meet all criteria.

Example 2: To produce a list of all Posters for the Emergency Medicine clinical specialty:

• Click on the Posters option in the "Document Type" picklist.
• Click on the Emergency Medicine option in the "Clinical Specialty or Hospital Dept" picklist.
• Click on the Search button to view a list of all titles that meet the criteria.

To view a list of all available titles, simply click on the Search button on the Search/Browse page without specifying search criteria in the text or category boxes.
